Hello parents and welcome to our blog. Thank you for visiting!
This week’s quote:
“The things he sees are not just remembered; they form a part of his soul.” – Maria Montessori
This week we are finishing up Australia and Oceans in our cultural area, and the children continued to learn about the different animals among the two. We learned the different parts of a fish and actually got to see and feel a real one and look at all the different parts.
This week, we also worked on our self-portrait and our calendar for the month of March.
On Tuesday, February 26th – the Kindergarteners visited the Marine Lab at Estes McDoniel Elementary School. It was a great addition to our Oceans theme where the children were able to see some of the animals that we’ve been studying. After the Marine Lab, the Kindergarteners enjoyed a picnic lunch and some fun at the park. Thank you to all our chaperones who helped transport our children safely and helped to keep an extra “eye” on our students.
The Kindergarteners finished their letter to the President and its been mailed out!! We are hoping for a response soon.
On Thursday, February 28th – We had a special visitor come to our classroom. Dr. Brad is a Dentist who visited our students to talk about Dental health. He showed the children the proper way to brush, the right foods to eat, and how to prevent cavities. Thank You Dr. Brad for all your wonderful information.
Throughout the week, our children helped Ms. Val (our outdoor teacher) do some fantastic gardening. The children planted tomatoes, green/yellow/red peppers, and some marigold flowers.
On Friday, March 1st – We celebrated Dr. Seuss’s Birthday with fun art activities, cooking green eggs and ham, and sharing our favorite Dr. Seuss book.
