Hello parents and thank you for visiting our blog!
We’ve been very busy in P3 these last few weeks. We started our studies of Africa and learned a few of the countries that make up Africa (Egypt, South Africa, Kenya, and Libya). We discussed the location of the continent and why the climate is always hot due to its proximity to the equator line. We continued to discuss the Rainforest and the many animals that live there, as there are rainforests in Africa too. This month we are also studying BUGS! Big bugs, creepy bugs, small bugs, fast bugs, hard working bugs, and bugs with 100 legs. We learned the classification of bugs – 3 body parts, 6 legs, and 2 antennae. We read a book on how important bugs are to our Earth and soil.
We had a special visitor come and share her animals from the rainforest with us. The Madagascar hissing beetles, a tarantula, blue tongue lizard, a boa constrictor, iguanas, and a macaw were some of the animals we saw. We learned all about their diet, their habitat, and the many different ways they protect themselves from predators.
We also had our P3 field trip to the Children’s Discovery Museum. The children enjoyed exploring all the fun and creative activities the museum had to offer. From being a banker, to working in a grocery store or on cars, climbing, jumping, and crawling through tunnels; our students had a fun filled day at the museum! Thank you to all our chaperones who helped make this trip a safe and successful one.
On Friday, May 9th we celebrated our wonderful, caring, and loving mothers of P3. It was a special time spent together honoring the love we share with our mommies!
On Wednesday, May 14th we had our marvelous Spring Performance facilitated by Ms. Gloria, our music teacher. Through all the practice and hard work, our students performed to perfection! We are so proud of them and hope you all enjoyed the show.
