Hello Parents and Welcome to our blog! Thank You for visiting!
P3 has been very busy these past two weeks. We are covering the continent of North America and learning all about the three countries that make up North America (Canada, United States, and Mexico). We are exploring the land, culture, food, famous land marks, climate, animals, and language of each country. The children are enjoying working with new materials in our cultural area that help to teach these concepts; along with using our continent map of North America.
During our Desert Studies, we are learning about the various animals that live in our desert, and the way they survive and adapt to their habitat.
While Celebrating Thanksgiving this month, we like to focus on being thankful and discussed all the things we are thankful for. We also read a book called “Thanksgiving is Here” and talked about the journey to the new land, and how difficult is was to sail across the Atlantic Ocean.
On Tuesday, November 12th we had a guest visitor who brought some reptile animals to share with us. The children saw snakes, lizards, and a tortoise and learned all about their different habitats.
Our wonderful outdoor classroom with Ms. Val and Ms. Marian is looking beautiful with the leaves changing colors. The children are busy raking the leaves, taking care of the garden, and watching the birds getting ready for Winter. It truly is an incredible experience for our children to explore nature!!
On Wednesday, November 20th our Kindergarteners will be taking a field trip to Red Rock for some hiking and enjoying a picnic lunch. Please look for an information sheet being sent home listing all the important details regarding the trip. Also, chaperones need to arrive at school by 9:15am to be briefed on safety instructions. Thank you!
Our older students continue to be great role models for the younger students by inviting them to share different works, and help to guide them and teach them.
