Hello parents and welcome to our blog!
This week’s quote:
“Children are human beings to whom respect is due, superior to us by reason of their innocence and of the greater possibilities of their future.” – Maria Montessori
We would like to wish Ms. Maryam’s mom all the best and a speedy recovery. In return, we would love to welcome Ms. Val to our room for the remainder of the school year. We are all so excited to have Ms. Val and her energetic spirit in our room.
Also, we would like to welcome Cadbury (the outside rabbit) to our classroom; as he will be making his home in our room for the remainder of the school year. The children have the opportunity to help take care of Cadbury on a daily basis through nurturing, housekeeping, feeding, and learning respect for animals. The children were so excited to learn about Cadbury, they started observing him and writing their observations down on paper to share with the class.
This week we started learning more about Africa and the culture. We practiced counting 1-10 in Swahili, learned about the different land and climates, plants and animals, and the amazingly long Nile River.
