Hello parents and welcome to our blog. Thank you for visiting!
This week’s quote: “The child should live in an environment of beauty.” – Maria Montessori
This week we started learning about Asia and some of the wonderful countries that make up Asia: China, India, Japan and the Philippines! We also discussed “The Great Wall of China” and “The Taj Mahal”. A few children have brought in some souvenirs to share with the class from the different countries within Asia. We encourage more children to share whatever they may have from any country within Asia as well.
We started our studies of Dinosaurs and learned about the differences between them. We talked about carnivores and herbivores and the different characteristics that made them up. Oh – and learning the names has been another interesting fact (some have as many as 17 letters in their name)!
There are new materials out in our Practical Life area and the children have been exploring with them all week. These works help to strengthen fine and gross motor skills, and encourage independence.
Art with Ms. Angela is always a happy time for the children. They enjoy her stories and wonderful crafts that she brings into the classroom. This week, Ms. Angela asked the children to create animals using different wooden shapes.
We wanted to thank all the parents for taking the time to sit with us during parent/teacher conferences. It is always so great to get together and discuss your wonderful children.
