Becoming Festive in P3

Hello Parents and Welcome to our blog!

This week’s Quote:

“The first essential for the child’s development is concentration. The child who concentrates is immensely happy.” – Maria Montessori

Cultural Studies:

This week we started learning about Europe and some of the historical landmarks (ex. Leaning Tower of Pisa, Buckingham Palace), famous people, and the different countries that make up the continent. The children are coloring flags from the different countries, and learning all about the different Islands and peninsulas that make up parts of Europe.  The children are also singing songs and looking at pictures related to Europe.

Primary sing-Along:

On December 20th @ 10:15-11:00am, you are invited to join us in the classroom for a winter sing-a-long and share a snack with your child.  The children are practicing their songs and are excited to share this special time with you.  All are welcome to join us (parents, grandparents, siblings etc. – the more the merrier!!!)

The children are working nicely together and our younger friends in the classroom are learning so much from the older friends.

P.E. class:

The Kindergarteners LOVE going to P.E. with Coach Dodge.  They are learning games and teamwork, and all about building physical activities strength.

Winter Celebrations:

The children are learning about many different traditions people celebrate during December.  Our Practical Life area offers many different works that are related to the different holidays that are celebrated this time of year.
