Hello Parents and welcome to our blog.
It’s so hard to believe that November is already here. Times flies when you are having fun – especially in P3
Please read on to learn of our upcoming studies and events, including our first Kindergarten field trip.
Quote of the week:
“Only practical work and experience lead the young to maturity.” – Maria Montessori
It is getting close to jacket season, so please make sure you label your child’s jacket, sweater and other belongings.
We wanted to thank those moms who shared some “fun” Halloween treats with the children on Wednesday. The children enjoyed reading Halloween stories and especially enjoyed The Pumpkin House story: while reading through the story and using scissors to cut out a few shapes, the story ending with a jack-o-lantern.
Practical life area:
The children will look forward to using and exploring new works in the practical life area this month. Practical life helps to develop fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination, and independence.
Cultural Studies:
North America will be our continent focus for this month. We will learn all about the countries, oceans, rivers, and mountains. We will study the culture of people, animals, plants and history of this magnificent continent.
Kindergarten Field Trip:
On Thursday, November 15th, Our Kindergarteners will be going to Red Rock Canyon. We will be leaving at 10:15am and returning by 2:45pm. We will ask all the children to wear their FMS t-shirt with comfortable shoes for hiking. We will pack a sack lunch to bring with us and will be hiking the Children’s Discovery Trail.
Upcoming Events:
Friday, November 9th – no school for Teacher-in-Service Day
Monday, November 12th – no school in observance of Veteran’s Day
Thursday, November 15th – Kindergarten Field Trip to Red Rock Canyon
Have an Awesome Weekend Everyone!!!!
